Caboolture Rugby Union Club is pleased to announce that current Development Manager, former Queensland Red and Wallaby player Steve Kefu will be at the reins for the 2020 season. After a disappointing 2019 for the senior men at the club it was evident something needed to be done and quickly. The club has wasted no time in securing Steve in the role of Head Coach and look forward to what he brings to the table.
Rugby Manager and 2019 Captain John Flew sees it as a step in the right direction for the club. “Kef is a highly sought after coach, he brings a professionalism that we have been lacking here and he really wants the whole club to succeed.” Steve will continue his role as Development Manager and take on the extra role of Head Coach in the upcoming pre-season. “He has a lot of Rugby knowledge and he gets excited when he gets to pass that on. From the smallest u4/5 right through to our biggest boys in the A grade, he wants success and is trying to bring in the mantra of winners on and off the field which is a great example for everyone”
Steve is also running a FREE academy starting on October 14th and running every Monday for 10 weeks. The academy is seen as the best way to help develop junior talent from all around the Moreton Bay Region. It will also be a great way for junior coaches of all age groups to come in and pick up some tips from one of the best coaches around.
