Caboolture Rugby Union club helps ease cash burden on families.

Caboolture Rugby Union Club has always prided itself on being an affordable opportunity for families through the Moreton Bay Region. In 2024 they have gone a number of steps further and drastically cut their prices, in some cases by half!

Based out of the newly re-constructed Petersen Road Sports Complex, on Petersen Road, Morayfield, the Snakes see 2024 as the perfect opportunity to grow the game through their region. On the back of an unsuccessful World Cup campaign by the Wallabies, the Snakes look to turn the tide on the game traditionally considered for the rich end of town and private schools only.

The club’s development staff have been working hard to buck the private school tag, establishing competitions such as the Moreton Bay Cup, a competition for non-traditional Rugby schools. They also provide the Caboolture School Sports District with some of the largest boys and girls 7s Gala Days in the state.

Caboolture Rugby Union Club’s General Manager John Flew said “we have started a decade of excitement for Rugby in this country, unfortunately the Wallabies were unable to kickstart that excitement but we are currently in the media more than we have been in the last 20 years.”

The decade he is talking about includes huge tours and competitions coming to Australian shores. “the Lions come in 2025, the Men’s and Women’s World Cups in 2027 & 29, and the Brisbane 2032 Olympics are also massive for our sport.”

Moreton Bay families can join the Caboolture Rugby Union Club for as little as $100 for U4/5 development squad and only as much as $160 for everyone between U6-18. “it is important for us that we only cut the price, our value is still massive compared to other clubs and sports around. We are looking forward to providing many opportunities through the year for players and coaches to learn from experienced heads and as always our uniform and kit is all supplied.” Flew said.

Every U6-18 player at sign on time receives a 2024 training tee, shorts, socks, polo and Gilbert rugby ball, specific to their age. At the end of the season all players will have the opportunity to keep their playing jersey as well. Flew attributes the ability to do this o the Caboolture Sports Club Group of which the Snakes are a Foundation Club and the great support of local businesses as Sponsors. He mentioned “the great work the Caboolture Sports Club does for not only our club but the community, and of course all the great businesses in and around the club, with out their generous support, initiatives like this are not possible.”

The Snakes are looking to continue their growth from 2022 where they achieve around 22% increase in numbers across the board. A huge winner was the Girls 7s program, on which they intend to grow and expand, hoping to get full XV a side teams together for the upcoming season.
