Dangerous Snakes on the move in Moreton Bay!

The Snakes of Caboolture Rugby Union Club are kick starting their 2024 campaign this week as their preseason preparations get underway. Starting out with an information session and BBQ at the freshly renovated Petersen Road Clubhouse, the Snakes coaches are promising that is the only easy session the teams will have in the lead up to the 2024 Sunshine Coast Competitions getting underway.

There has been some movement in the coaching ranks at the Snake Pit with Nathan Sanson moving up alongside last year’s A-Grade coach Wilson Enoka, Quinton Strickland coming in as Reserve Grade coach fresh from hanging up the boots as a player and Aaron Vinton filling the role as Women’s Coach, as Tony Walls takes some time off with his family.

Sanson is particularly keen on the prospect of getting stuck into the playing group this season bringing in the motto for preseason training “I bust mine so I can kick yours.” His advice to players for the 2024 season is “It’s not going to be easy but it is going to be worth it! Lets start the hard work together at Pre Season Training every Tuesday and Thursday!”

Also ready to tackle the exciting year ahead are a group of young colts players! They will be guided around the park by the experienced coaching team of John Flew and Steve Payne, while Queensland Reds lock Ryan Smith will be engaged from time to time, to offer his wisdom on the next generation.

If you are looking to join Moreton Bay’s Premier Rugby Club, join the squad Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6pm for 6:30 kick off at Petersen Road Sports Complex. With three mens teams, a ladies team and U20 team there is room for all levels of player and differing commitment levels. Come down to the Snake Pit and see what Snakes Rugby is all about!
